Valladolid es una ciudad donde caminar por sus calles te remonta a su pasado colonial. Tranquila, hermosa y segura, como pocas en todo México.
Su cuadro histórico deslumbra por sus casonas coloniales de bellos colores que al abrir sus enormes puertas de madera, esconden dentro antiguas estructuras que impresionan, con hermosos jardines, pisos de cerámica en bellos colores y muchos encantos más.
Valladolid fue fundada en 1543 tras la llegada de los españoles a América. Entre sus más lindas obras están sus iglesias, de las que destacan el ex-convento de San Bernardino de Siena y la iglesia de San Gervasio, en el centro de la cuidad.
¿Qué hacer en este hermoso pueblo mágico?
También conocida como la Sultana del Oriente, Valladolid ofrece una gran cantidad de pequeños restaurantes y cafés que permiten a locales y visitantes degustar platillos típicos de la región y un exquisito café mexicano.
Durante mi reciente visita, lo que más disfruté, fue pasear por sus coloridas calles mientras observaba la belleza de sus estructuras, los diferentes colores de sus casas y la amabilidad de su gente.

Uno puede pasar horas caminando o sentarse en un típico café o en alguna plaza. Por las noches hay que hacer un paseo obligatorio por la Calzada de Los Frailes, que ofrece diversos restaurantes, algunos con música, incluso mariachis. Es muy común ver a los comensales comiendo en mesas sobre la acera.
La Calzada de Los Frailes ofrece un ambiente bastante bohemio donde seguramente puedes interactuar con lugareños o muchos de los extranjeros que han hecho de esta ciudad su propio hogar.

Una ciudad encantadora y segura.
Sin embargo, entre las cosas que más me gustaron de esta encantadora ciudad, es su seguridad. A diferencia de gran parte de México, Valladolid tiene un índice de criminalidad casi inexistente. Se puede caminar por sus calles a cualquier hora con la tranquilidad que en otras ciudades de México no se puede hacer.
Vale mucho la pena visitarla el hermoso pueblo mágico de Valladolid. Te va a gustar tanto que antes de irte ya estarás pensando e regresar.

Valladolid is a city where walking through its streets takes you back to its colonial past. Quiet, beautiful and safe like few cities in Mexico.
It’s historical city center enchants for its colonial mansions of beautiful colors. When they open their enormous wooden doors, a new world opens up in front of you. Inside they hide ancient structures that dazzle with beautiful gardens, ceramic floors in beautiful colors, and many more charms.
Valladolid was founded in 1543 after the arrival of the Spaniards to America. Among its most beautiful attractions are its churches, which include the former convent of San Bernardino de Siena and the church of San Gervasio right in the city.
What to do in this beautiful town?
Also known as the Sultana del Oriente, Valladolid offers many small restaurants and coffee shops that allow locals and foreigners to taste typical dishes of the region and Mexican grown coffee.
During my recent visit, what I enjoyed the most, was walking through its colorful streets while I observing the beauty of its structures, the different colors of its houses and the friendliness of its people.
People can spend hours walking or sitting in a typical coffee shop or just in a city plaza. In the evenings you must take a walk along the “Calzada de Los Frailes” which offers several coffee shops and restaurants, some with music, even mariachis. And it is common to see people having dinner in the sidewalk while enjoying the amazing city ambient and great weather.
Calzada de Los Frailes offers a quite bohemian atmosphere where you can surely interact with locals or many of the foreigners who have made this city their own home.
A charming and very safe city to stay.
However, among the things that I liked most about this charming city is safety. Unlike much of the rest of Mexico, Valladolid has an almost non-existent crime rate. You can walk through its streets at any time with the tranquility that other cities in Mexico can not offer.
It’s worth visiting this beautiful City. You will like it so much, that before you leave, you will be already thinking to return.
